A listing that says only “M.2 SSD” or “PCIe 4.0” is incomplete because M.2 cards come in different lengths and can use different interfaces.

The four digits describe width and length in millimeters: 2242 means roughly 22mm × 42mm. They do not describe capacity or speed. Likewise, “NVMe” describes the storage protocol; it does not tell you whether the board is short enough to mount correctly.
